Backwards

This term refers to riding a roller coaster while seated facing in the opposite direction you are traveling. Amusement parks will on occasion run a roller coaster backwards by placing the train backwards on the track so the rear car leads. On shuttle coasters riders will travel backwards and forwards since the roller coaster track does not form a complete circuit.
